iTero® Digital Impressions
The iTero scanner has made dentistry more possible with less discomfort and more rewarding results. The iTero technology is used by your Boston dentist to create an accurate digital impression of your teeth. The system is dynamic and reduces the need to create impressions using trays or putty material. In contrast to previous techniques, patients have a more convenient cosmetic dentistry experience with less steps involved.
The iTero scanner creates realistic and precise impressions from the beginning of treatment, which creates a more comfortable patient experience. The creation of digital impressions allows teeth to be rendered in 3D, which benefits the patient’s results towards the end of the treatment process. .
How do iTero impressions work?
The iTero scanner uses a system that helps capture the structure of the teeth and gums. As your dentist uses the scanner, they can pause or restart the process as many times as necessary to create the most personalized impression.
The laser used during the scanning process is radiation-free and the process can be completed in as little as two to three minutes. A highly detailed, 3D impression of your teeth and soft tissue structure is created through the laser.
With the help of digital software, patients can continually check on the scan progress. This advanced technology can be applied to many restorative treatments, including veneers, bridges, dental implants, crowns, and more.
