Emergency Dentist Boston
Nobody plans for an emergency, but when one happens, you want to make sure you have help and support. That holds particularly true for dental emergencies. When a patient has a last minute problem, such as when a tooth falls out or when a toothache flares up, they often can’t wait to schedule an appointment weeks in advance. They need treatment, and they need it right away.
Whatever your emergency, CITI Dental can assist you or your loved one in treating and resolving the issue. Our experienced staff of dental professionals can treat you, often during a walk in or a same-day appointment, and get you back to living a normal, pain-free life.
Accidents can happen at any time. Whether caused by biting into particularly hard food or by some type of physical trauma, these issues can have a profound effect on your dental health. Minor accidents like mild chipping or dull pain can often be treated by scheduling a regular dental examination. However, in extreme circumstances, emergency dentistry can alleviate severe pain while preventing permanent damage to your dental health.
Common dental issues that may require emergency treatment include:
- Broken Tooth - while minor chipping or cracking might not require emergency dentistry, when the chip or crack is particularly large then the issue should be treated right away. Failure to treat could cause permanent damage to the tooth and the nerve.
- Lost Tooth - patients typically lose teeth due to some sort of physical trauma, such as a sports accident to a fall. When a tooth has fallen out, it is important to wash the dirt off but preserve any tissue still attached. Placing the tooth back in the socket provides the best chance or reimplanting the tooth. If that’s not possible, store the tooth in milk or saliva and our staff will tend to your issue when you arrive.
- Acute Pulpitis - this inflammation of the pulp, located within the tooth, can cause a significant amount of pain. Pulpitis typically required immediate dental pain in order to relieve the pain.
- Abscesses -these typically occur in either the tooth or the gum, and can involve swelling and intermittent pain.
If you, a loved one or a family member has experienced trauma that may require emergency dentistry, contact our offices right away. CITI Dental can accommodate emergency walk-ins, last minute appointments, or same day and next day appointments.
